
Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) Speech-Language Pathology (F222)
Position Description Summary:
The Department of Rehabilitation Sciences at Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position to support our dynamic Speech-Language Pathology graduate program and our Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology undergraduate program. We are seeking a visionary educator and researcher committed to advancing these programs through innovative teaching, scholarly excellence, and student-centered engagement. The successful candidate will complement the expertise of current faculty, foster a collaborative environment, and contribute to the continued development and recognition of our department.
The home campus for this position is Bloomsburg with the expectation of serving a multi-campus University within the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education

Duties
- Teach courses in the graduate Speech-Language Pathology program and undergraduate Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology program
- Conduct and disseminate research in the fields of speech, language, and hearing sciences
- Mentor and advise students, fostering a supportive and dynamic learning environment
- Collaborate with faculty to implement forward-thinking curricular and program developments
- Participate in service to the department, college, university, and professional communities
- Complete distance education training programs as made available by the University within two years of hire for the purpose of teaching in a multi-campus environment with remote teaching needs
- Previous graduate-level teaching experience
- Record of peer-reviewed publications and presentations
- Clinical experience
- Expertise in one or more of the following areas: Swallowing Disorders; Adult Neurogenic Disorders; Voice and Resonance Disorders. Other areas of expertise may be considered.

Finalist(s) for this position must communicate well and successfully complete an interview process. Recommendation for hiring is needed for a majority of the regular, full-time department faculty. Completing this search is contingent upon student enrollment and available funding.

Background Clearances:
Offers of employment are conditional, pending successful completion of the background clearances mandated by Act 153 of 2014 and Board of Governors Policy 2014-01-A: Protection of Minors. In order to qualify for a provisional appointment, the Applicant Acknowledgement Consent Form, Provisional Hire Form, Pennsylvania State Police and Justifacts portion of the clearance process must be successfully completed prior to your start date. The remaining PA Child Abuse History Clearance and FBI Clearance must be successfully completed and returned as soon as possible within the first 90 days of employment.
