The IPE/IPP Information Exchange is a yearlong online learning event aimed at supporting faculty and programs interested in expanding IPE/IPP experiences for undergraduate and graduate students.
This is the final session, where participants will join content experts in discussing issues related to IPE/IPP using an informal and interactive conversational format. Community service learning provides the opportunity for integrative IPE, as interprofessional teams of learners work side-by-side to respond to challenges faced by communities. Integrative IPE within a service learning framework also allows learners to develop trusting collaborative care relationships, value diversity, be flexible, and foster a long-term commitment to staying engaged in the community. Community engagement learning experiences also have the potential to increase students’ comfort in developing care partnerships with patients and families from different cultures and who have different lifestyles and socialization.
This session is suited for institutions looking to learn about incorporating community service learning and creating immersive IPE experiences that allow teams of learners to work together over a period of time in authentic environments.
Through speaker presentations and opportunities for dialogue and connection, the IPE/IPP Information Exchange hopes to create a consistent and casual environment for faculty across multiple disciplines to connect, share ideas, brainstorm, and expand existing knowledge and research surrounding Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice. We hope to engage not only our invited conversation partners but the audience as well.
